Senior QA Engineer

Business & Requirement Analysis

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate requirements into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Identify requirement gaps, ambiguities, inconsistencies, dependencies, and potential quality risks.
• Collaborate with BA, PO, Developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and expected system behavior.
• Provide QA perspectives and identify potential testability or quality concerns during requirement analysis.

Test Planning & Execution

• Design and execute test cases for Functional, System, Regression, and Retesting activities.
• Define appropriate test coverage and testing approaches based on requirements, system impact, and risk.
• Validate system functionality, usability, data accuracy, and overall quality.
• Analyze test results and communicate findings, issues, and quality risks to relevant teams.
• Ensure adequate test coverage based on business requirements, technical changes, and identified risks..

Defect Management & Quality Control

• Identify, document, and track defects through the designated bug-tracking system.
• Analyze defects based on severity, priority, impact, business impact, and quality risks.
• Provide clear defect details, reproduction steps, supporting evidence, actual results, and expected results.
• Coordinate with Developers and relevant teams to investigate and resolve defects.
• Perform retesting and appropriate regression testing to verify defect resolution.
• Ensure critical defects and quality risks are appropriately communicated and escalated to relevant stakeholders.

UAT & Business Support

• Prepare UAT scenarios, test cases, test data, and supporting documents.
• Coordinate and facilitate UAT with business users and stakeholders.
• Support users during UAT and clarify expected system behavior.
• Consolidate UAT results, identified issues, and business feedback for relevant teams.
• Support defect verification and follow-up activities resulting from UAT.

Production Quality & Defect Management

• Monitor and investigate defects and quality issues occurring in the Production environment.
• Analyze production defects to identify potential causes, business impact, severity, and affected areas.
• Reproduce production issues in appropriate environments to support investigation and resolution.
• Validate fixes through appropriate testing before release and, where applicable, after deployment.
• Track production defects through resolution and closure.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical or recurring production defects.
• Identify and recommend preventive and corrective actions to reduce the risk of defect recurrence.
• Improve test scenarios, regression coverage, and QA processes based on lessons learned from production defects.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain test-related documentation, test cases, test evidence, and reports.
• Develop UAT documents, test reports, and other project documentation as required.
• Report testing progress, test results, defects, and quality risks to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain testing documentation to support traceability between requirements, test coverage, and identified defects.

API & Integration Testing (Advantage)

• Design and execute API test cases to validate functionality, data integrity, responses, and system behavior.
• Validate API contracts and specifications, including OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Validate error handling and edge cases, including invalid requests, negative scenarios, boundary conditions, rate limiting, and unexpected inputs.
• Perform integration testing across systems, services, and external dependencies to identify potential integration risks.
• Perform appropriate API performance and load testing to evaluate response time, latency, throughput, and system behavior under expected and high-load conditions.
• Coordinate with Developers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve API and integration issues.

Security Testing & Data Protection (Optional)

• Perform security testing and verification within the QA scope to identify potential security risks and improper system behavior.
• Verify that sensitive and Personally identifiable information (PII) is appropriately protected throughout the system.
• Verify encryption of sensitive data in transit, including HTTPS/TLS communication.
• Verify expected protection of sensitive data at rest based on system and security requirements
• Validate appropriate masking or exposure prevention of sensitive information in application logs, API responses, and user interfaces.
• Perform negative and authorization-related testing to verify that users or systems cannot access data or functions beyond their intended permissions.
• Report identified security concerns and coordinated with Developers and relevant teams for investigation and resolution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• 3+ years of direct experience in Software Testing / QA

Technical & Core Skills:

• Strong grasp of SDLC, testing methodologies, and test levels (Unit, API, UI, Integration, System, Regression, UAT)
• Ability to translate Business Requirements/User Stories into Test Scenarios and Test Cases
• Hands-on API Testing experience (validation, status codes, error handling) and system risk identification
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in Defect Management, Root Cause Analysis, or Bug Tracking tools
• Experience in Automation Testing
• Background working in an Agile/Scrum environment
